Buskers allowed to play on Clevedon’s streets and squares

Clevedon Town Council has adopted a buskers ‘code of conduct’ to allow more pop-up performances across the seaside resort.

The move is part of an initiative by the Clevedon Creative group, working in partnership with Clevedon Live Music and Clevedon Business Improvement District (BID).

A number of other towns across Somerset – such as Frome, Bath and Weston-super-Mare – already have a code of conduct in place to encourage street performers.

The code sets out a number of requirements for those wanting to perform including that they shouldn’t perform before 9am or after 8pm; nor for more than an hour at a time and ensure they don’t busk in ‘sound sensitive’ locations – such as outside care homes or churches.
